Maurice Pillard Verneuil’s Corbeaux, bordure au pochoir; cigales et chardons, étoffe imprimée comes from L’Animal dans la Décoration (1897). The plate pairs a narrow border of stylized crows with a larger repeating textile pattern of cicadas moving among thistle leaves and flower heads. Deep blue, burgundy, green, brown, and yellow create a dense, rhythmic surface, while the repeated natural forms give the design a strong sense of movement and pattern.
Each Endicott & Co. print is carefully prepared from historical source material, with the character and detail of the original preserved in the restoration. The artwork is thoughtfully proportioned and offered in standard frame sizes for straightforward display.
Materials: Solid pinewood frame with a matte black finish and shatter-resistant plexiglass. Archival matte fine art paper, 310 gsm. Finished with a protective backing, pre-installed hanging hardware, and discreet rubber bumpers to protect the wall and keep the piece level.
