Priscilla Susan Bury’s Hemerocallis and Dragonfly Study comes from A Selection of Hexandrian Plants, Belonging to the Natural Orders Amaryllidæ and Liliacæ (1831–1834). The composition brings together broad green leaves, flowering stems in blue-violet and white, and a finely observed dragonfly set against an open ground. The large-scale foliage gives the plate a strong sculptural presence, while the insect and smaller floral details introduce a quieter layer of natural history observation.
Each Endicott & Co. print is carefully prepared from historical source material, with the character and detail of the original preserved in the restoration. The artwork is thoughtfully proportioned and offered in standard frame sizes for straightforward display.
