MANHATTAN BRIDGE, TOWER | Framed | Berenice Abbott

Berenice Abbott’s Manhattan Bridge, Tower comes from her Changing New York project, which documented New York during a period of rapid urban transformation. Looking sharply upward, Abbott isolates one of the bridge’s towers and its surrounding cables, turning the structure into a study of vertical lines, riveted steel, and geometric repetition.

The extreme viewpoint compresses the bridge into a powerful architectural composition, emphasizing both the intricacy of its construction and the monumental scale of the structure.

Each Endicott & Co. print is carefully prepared from historical source material, with the character and detail of the original preserved in the restoration. The artwork is thoughtfully proportioned and offered in standard frame sizes for straightforward display.

Materials: Solid pinewood frame with a matte black finish and shatter-resistant plexiglass. Satin-finish photo paper, 260 gsm. Finished with a protective backing, pre-installed hanging hardware, and discreet rubber bumpers to protect the wall and keep the piece level.
