Maurice Pillard Verneuil’s Paons et pavots, bordure. Grondins, algues et coquilles, plat en émail cloisonné comes from the Art Nouveau publication L’Animal dans la Décoration (1897). Across the plate, peacocks and poppies form an ornamental border above a circular marine composition of gurnard fish, seaweed, and shells. Rich blues, ochres, coral reds, and yellow give the design a vivid decorative rhythm, while its stylized natural forms reflect the flowing language of Art Nouveau.
Each Endicott & Co. print is carefully prepared from historical source material, with the character and detail of the original preserved in the restoration. The artwork is thoughtfully proportioned and offered in standard frame sizes for straightforward display.
Materials: Archival matte paper, 230 gsm
Sizes refer to the unframed artwork. Each print includes a built-in border for a clean, matted look. No additional mat is required. Standard frame sizes fit easily. Framing will add to the final dimensions.
Frames and interiors are shown for context only.
